The villa consists of several large split-levelled and open-planned structures with dramatic high thatched alang-alang ceilings, louvered plantation shutters, saffron and ivory-coloured paras-stone walls and dark polished teakwood floors. Entry to the villa is a through a set of carved teakwood gates – leading to a walkway with a cascading vine-covered gable – which is flanked either side by two manicured gardens.
The main living pavilion features 2 comfortable antique wooden sofas, while antique Chinese tapestries – framed in Javanese teakwood – adorn the walls. Along the base wall are folding louvered doors that open out onto a private garden. A formal dining area – seating 10 in comfort – is located on a split upper-level in the main living pavilion. Adjacent to the dining area is a tranquil Koifish lotus pond and lengthy white stone courtyard – with fragrant frangipanni trees – providing an umbrella of shade to the relaxing sun loungers below them. All areas of the villa overlook a 15-metre aquamarine swimming pool with stunning sunset vistas of the tiered rice fields and beyond. An oversized traditional balé (sun sheltering pavilion) sits at the far edge of the swimming pool, for relaxing and informal poolside dining, seating up to 15 guests in comfort.
From the dining area is access to 2 air-conditioned double bedrooms. The west facing master bedroom consists of a canopied king-size four-poster bed, walk-through dressing room, en-suite bathroom – and an open-air breakfast veranda ideal for relaxing or sunset cocktails. The second bedroom opens onto a small private garden with a tranquil lotus pond and features.
